Referring to the backing ... that goes up against the throttle body ... on my '05 and most late models, the backing is the same shape as the outer football ... on those photos above, the backing is round conforming to the shape of the filter element ...
On my '05, the breather system consists of two rubber hoses that come of hollow bolts that go into the heads ... the other end of the rubber tubes vent into the back of the backing plate of the football ... vice what you see in the photos ...
If you take off your football cover, what does it look like? This is what I am referencing ....
