Default '07 fxdc clutch question

I just went to look at an'07 fxdc with 48 mi. on it. When I let the clutch out the bike began to move as soon as the clutch lever moved away from the handlebar. I mean as soon as it was released, no more than a few mm between lever and bars. Is this normal for these bikes.. I've been riding for 25yrs and never had a clutch release so quickly. Are these clutches cable or hyd. If hyd. do they have any adjustments. Thanks for your response.

They are cable operated, and should have approx 1/8" freeplay at the lever. Sounds a little overtight.

Cable operated. There is adjustment at the cable, and also adjustment of the clutch pack as well.

If the bike is at a dealer, have them make sure it is adjusted properly. If it is a private seller.... well then, get a service manual and adjust it yourself. No biggee....

I would just adjust it yourself, especially if it only has 45 miles on it. As the cable stretches it will be worse, but it is really easy to adjust at the cable, and not very hard to do the clutchpack adjustment either. Here is a video link for both the cable adjustment (which I would try first
http://www.expertvillage.com/video/1...clutch-two.htm
and the clutchpack adjustment, which should be done at the 1000 mi service anyway
