ha ha ha fresh out the oven last night brother! on their way... i am going to toss them in with Dans shields... dont worry i tossed a bunch of old sand paper, metal shavings, and rocks in the box to see how tuff the powder is by the time it gets there

I have used the "older" Dyna touring shield on my wifes Hugger (long gone) it is nothing like the ones listers have shown, it extended down on the sides almost to the top of the fenders, If you can find an older catalog you will see it listed, it shows up on eBay from time to time-------I currenlty have a Sportster shield on my 07 FXD it is 22" hi and narrow at the top, if you look at HD shields a lot have the same bolt holes and the SS mounting brackets are the same---leads to a lot of interchangability, all thats need is the fork mounts.

I've taken my shield off a few times for short hops around town. When I get over 45-50mph, I wish it was still on. I'll put up with the slight helmet buffeting to get the blast off my chest; it gets tiring after a short while.

 

I spent a few hours yesterday testing some different set-ups for a trip I have coming up. I hadnt had the shield on since feburary.

Items used HD QD windshield, Half helmet, full face helmet, Drivers backrest.

I tried lots of postions with the windshield and both helmets. I found the most comfortable set-up was Drivers backrest, Full Face Helmet and no shield.

No buffeting and the backrest takes away most of the pressure of being blown back at highway speeds. Also greatly reduces wind noise for them long stretches.

I have the windshield tilted forward in the upper quick mounts. I also have a modified bagger "fork air baffle" installed. I have the windshield cut out for the 7" fatbob light, but only gave about 3/8" clearance. I don't have near the buffeting I did before.

 

Here's the touring you were asking for. I did shave the bottom "wings" off to relocate the turn signals. I really like this shield because it's narrow at the top. It has a really cool shape and it's fairly upright. I've seen shields that look like they are laying down and I don't like that look. As for buffeting...it's the same as any shield, but I did add a touring baffle to the underneath of my trees. A little trimming and it fit. Works out great!

I like the shield due to how upright it is...I have long arms and I have straight risers on it with the bars as far forward as possible. It's a really comfy set up for me. I really need to update the pics I have on file!!! My bike has changed a lot since these pics!!
