Last minute things
We are headed out to the Smoky Mountains monday for a 3 day trip. I have been getting ready and making sure every is in order to go. I will go over the bike this weekend maintenace/safety wise, so really looking at any little things you do make a trip more enjoyable/comfortable. Should run around 1200 miles over the 3 days.
So far
I added the Kury Xtensions to my highway pegs. They were a touch to far away and this gave me a little over a inch to play with.
The bag I am taking is new, so I packed to make sure I had room and the best way to secure it to my bike.
I mounted some speakers in my helmet since ear buds start to bother me after awhile. Sounds really good and is much more comfortable.
Got the Ipod loaded up with some new music and a couple new Comedy Cds
I have a drivers backrest but leaving the windshield at home.
Picked up a tinted shield for my helmet.
Got plenty of sunscreen packed.

A small tool kit, some way to hold water bottles, look ahead on maps/info to find out where 'your' gas stations are, and possible dealers/indys..... yeah, I know - only a 3 day ride. It's info worth having
... I'd rather not have to look at it, but if I need to know, it's nice to have it available.

wow, this almost hurts, remembering how to pack stuff when preparing for a trip on my 02 low rider and then my 07 streetbob. ended up building a back rack for the 02 low rider that allowed me to install the fatboy saddlebags i had that were the leather kind with the hard inner wall where they mounted. that with the clip on windshield, foreward pegs, and it worked. now i have an 08 streetglide and never lookin back, although i miss the dynas, they rock.
