third category, those of us that have been there and done that..if somebody wants to chrome their bike, by all means go for it.. heck I did on several of my bikes, 2 show bikes even..lots of street bikes..But now days EVERYBODY Chromes their bike, maybe some want to be just a little different.....do we dare to be different, or must we all follow along and if it isn't rubber, chrome it..Nay I say go forth and sprot new wings, be different..
But if you really want chrome, go for it, its nice, its hard to keep clean, and it isn't worth a plugged nickle when it is trade in time.
What I have noticed on most chromed out Harleys, is lack of milage, me thinks bike night shine is more important to some then really rideing them, just my opinon on that. A chromed out harley with 4,000 miles on it in 5 years?? See a lot of that to..

No Misterrick, you must decide what you want, lots of good advice here on this board, a lot of us have been where you are and really didn't know what to do..Just follow your gut feeling, as i said a chrome bike is nice to look at, and fun to own..something only you can decide..as for me i think I'll skip the chrome this week and ride out to deals gap and meet a couple of friends for fun rideing..[sm=biker.gif]

Rather than go nuts and just start buying parts, without regard for how they work together, have some patience and develop a plan. Research, look at a lot of bikes and decide what 'you' like and where you would like to take it. Then prioritize.

That's great advice.

I would totally agree with that too. I wasn't making a blanket statement...notice I said "generally". [8D]

In fact my next bike will be a total departure from my chromed out ride now. But for someone to say that chromed bikes "look like a shiny piece of $hit" (not you) is just a personal preference and not really good feedback for the original poster who stated that they want to chrome out their bike.

Dude: I didn't want to say anything at first because you are new here......but you have to "break-in" your new bike for it to be a new Harley first before you add anything. These other guys are being too nice to say anything about it but I just can't stand by and watch you give your new bike some bad luck or bad kharma............your new bike needs to be touched by some new "milk bags"....which means you need to clean this bike up and wax it to the max so it looks like showroom condition......then you need to sport your best leather & shades and go to a local bar and find a fine babe that you can "recruit" to ride topless on your new bike and give it it's "maiden voyage" with a fine "maiden". This is really important and must be done before you add even 1 bolt of chrome!!!

Go Forth.........and break in your new bike according to the Harley Davidson Law of Eternity and report your findings to us ASAP!! KB
