bike lift

Yep, I have my bike up on the exact same lift right now (07 Street Bob). It is not the most stable thing in the world, make sure you strap the bike down. You will need the little shims harley sells for the frame like you will with any jack. Those shims suck BTW, if you have to push on the bike at all they have a tendency to come apart (the shims that is).
To get the jack under the bike I drive it up on a couple of 2x6's with a larger enough hole between them to fit the jack under the bike. When it is flat on the ground the jack hits the kick stand and will not go far enough to get to the far side frame rails. It is not hard at all. Just make sure you also put a piece of 2x6 under the kick stand.
And here is a picture of why I will be nervous as hell until I get my wheel back from the powder coater:

Pep Boys
Man...that sure looks like the one I bought at Pep Boys 4-5yrs. ago and paid like $40-$50 for on sale. It will not work on my Dyna unless I make a "block like" adapter...The Dynas have that freakin' pan down there in the way. I don't know how well it works but I can say that it does roll around easily as I have moved the freakin' thing out of my way many many times. Unless you are certain that it works with your particular bike, I'd say spend the money to get something you will be happy (and safe) with.
