Rear Fender Ideas
I think I am going to get a new rear fender to play with. I plan to go to a side mount plate and lose the brake light, using the blinkers as the taillight.
I will most likely just fill in the holes and thats it but I am open to ideas of cutting the fender down or something. I am thinking something like Venturachops fender at the moment.
One thing to keep in mind is I run 12 inch shocks and I am not going any lower. Some fender mods I like but require you to get the fender down more to look good.

They're pretty easy to cut down but your right about the height thing. If you're not going to change the shocks there are a couple or three things you can do to get it to look decent. The first and easiest would be to just get a bigger tire the SE 180 does a nice job of filling up the fender. You can also re-drill the mounting holes higher and cut off the excess. You can lower the angle of the cut, the way Harley did with the new Street Bobs. Of course none of these are as easy as just getting shorter shocks.

i will snap a picture of mine when i get into the shop next... i took 2 st bob fenders, cut the tail light off one and added 12 in on the the front of the cut fender... this gave me a perfectly smooth fender all the way back, gives me an extra 4 in swoop on the fender and it is ALL metal so i can powder it... still cleaning up the welds and grinding that down... but it is coming along... working more on my girls new dove tail that i have not done much on mine
here is her dove tail, we took 1/4 in out of the center, filled the 10 holes per side, and are in the process of smoothing it all out so i can tool it and clear powder
