Smile bike sputtering- conclusion

Took to dealer that did the 103. Two connectors need replaced. One was the Map sensor connector and the rear fuel injector connector. Two at same time??? Said it was covered under warranty???? My warranty ended 2 months ag.o. Bad news is will not have for weekend . Looks like you guys were spot on with the problem. Thanks for the help. I learned alot.

Good that you know what happened but sucks you won't have your bike for the weekend. They have to order those sensors? Maybe you could find that at another dealer in the area and pick 'em up?

Sounds like the connectors got hosed during the tear down of your engine for the big bore upgrade. It was so nice of the dealer to "offer" replacement under warranty, sounds like he is hiding poor workmanship. At least it is being taken care of.

Possible but doubt it. I am thinking the wire loom was a bit tight and engine moving in rubber mounts broke the wire after time. Happened to mine and engine has never been removed or that wiring touched since factory installed.

pins get pushed out or bent very easily if you think you can just throw some connectors together. When I bought my first Harley, some lights didn't work and I found a bent pin on the speedometer plug, therefore not in the hole it was supposed to be in. A female pin pulling out of the plastic housing is probably more common. I work on UAV's every day now (all kinds of different connectors) and we find that type of thing A LOT.
