Default Handlebars for '06 FXD: Help!?

Hello,

I recently purchased a 2006 FXDI. I love the bike, but it has forward controls and a set of drag bars and the reach is a bit much for me (see pic). I don't much care for the stock bars. Would like something like a drag bar but with a bit of a rise and a bit of backsweep.

Problem, of course, is the instrument setup. Can't seem to find any easy solution (or a hard one either, short of swapping tanks). I did search the forum, and the topic has come up, but the responses were very specific and I didn't find much to help. Figured I'd raise it again and hope for some new ideas.

Thanks,

Mark

If want to run T-Bars then Accutronix makes a mount that goes on them and you use the older style speedo mount.

Like below

Can also use cable mounts with the above mount as well.

Carilini also has a nice mount but would have to relocate your dummy lights.

Can go with a Sportster custom set up as well and use what ever bars you want

Newer style

Older style will work as well

I went with the 07 SE FXD set-up which is a little pricey but nice

There is also a member on here that designed a mount and had it made which looks good.

Colombia Whaler is his name

Gives you a few ideas.

As far as good looking bars.... look at the HD street slammers. They look great !

If rise wasnt a factor you could get Flanders 35 degree drags and get a great deal of pullback.

Wow, life is good. This was perfect, and I really appreciate the help. I have been on the phone twice with Accutronics today. What great people! Tremendously helpful and gave freely of their time. I now have on order a set of 6 inch rise t-bars and an adaptor from them, and they guided me to a standard HD part that will allow me to make all this work. I'll post a pic once it's all done.

Thanks for the help.

Mark
