well you seem to be pretty up to speed on everything else.......there's gotta be something you're not an expert in or things would get pretty dull.......LOL
(I'm no tire expert either btw; I just play one on the internet)

ha ha ha well after reading all the reviews i am going to go with the Metzler 880's ill rock a 170 in the rear not a 180 it looks like... ooh well... not to upset. only reason i have not ordered them is i can not decide if i want the 120/70/19 front or the 110/90/19. i put on a custom front fender to fit the 120, but i am not sure if it will clear the brackets for my fender... i just sent Bosken an email to see about that. man the reviews on those tires are INSANE!!!

my combo is se gt502 180 rear, and avon am41 venom front 110/90-19
tread is a good visual match and I wanted to stick with the dyna 2.5 wheel and bias tyres
although it has always been the theory that you should not match radial and bias, harley do that now, and I know a few who also have that , with no probs
you cannot fit a 120 radial on a 2.5 rim though
radials require a wider fitment size for size, so a 120 radial requires a 3 inch rim, which is what the rod rims are(and the reason why they are)

Although a great tire i want to try something else... did not know that about the 120 though! that is good info... really good info... looks like i will be rocking the 110/90/17.

Hey JRK - I just checked motorcycle-superstore.com ...you can get the Metzler 880 combo of
R - 170/60/17
F - 110/90/19
for $272.98 with free shipping
They have the Pirelli Night Dragons too. You can get
R - 180/60/17
F - either 120/70/19 or 100/90/19 (seems the night dragons dont come in a 110/19)
for $268.98 with free shipping.
Have you thought of going with the Night Dragon rear (180/60/17) with the Metz front (110/90/19)? seems like the best of both worlds (other than the mix and match issue)....you could have that set up for under $280......
