Default Shift Peg Change

Recently had HD forward controls installed on my Low Rider.

The HD kit used the stock shift lever and peg.

Thinking about replacing the shift peg but can't figure out how to remove the stock peg.

I tried to unscrew it with a set of pliers but no-go.

???

They just screw in. Must have locktight and lots of torque if you can't get it off. Mine worked loose just from riding.

It screws off and is locktited. Use a heat gun to soften the locktite and twist it off.

I had to use vice grips and twist the sh*t out of it.

Careful - Hubby went to replace mine and the stock peg was on there so tight it broke off in his hand. Had to take off the lever and drill out the broken piece.

Use lock tite again or you may be replacing it twice. Don't ask how I know.

BTW,you CAN shift without a shift peg, just have to twist your foot pretty good.[:@]

Goof Look,I mean Good Luck.
