I have just been through the handbook and my service manual. The handbook has all the indicators numbered and labled, the only one missing is that icon. So no cruise for dyna's.( that would be sick in the sick sense)

That indicator is the altimeter. Tells you how high in the air you are.

That indicator is also used for activating the rear cylinder cut-out system on the touring bikes.

To think, all this time I thought it was the coolant level indicator.

Laugh all you want about cruise control. My old Bro has a Road King Classic with cruise and when he leads he clicks it on and we make great time. Great on the super slab on long trips. I constantly have to crank on a little more because I fall behind.

Would pay for it.

you guys can laugh (or cringe) at this story...

A friend and I rented a couple Road Kings in Vegas last Saturday and rode about 275 miles. The King had cruise control and it was awesome! I would love having it on my Fatbob now that Ive tried it. Forget about that crappy little thumbwheel I have now...

The best part was riding 80mph with the cruise engaged (yeah, the icon the OP was asking about glowed a nice green) and texting my wife this - "Hi honey. riding 80mph with the cruise on and no hands. call you in about an hour when I get to Hoover Dam :-)"

Her reply? "Stop that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

LOL

Yeah, I have that on my 09 Fat Bob too. It's for cruise control.

The guys make me lead just for that reason. I see them drifting back and then they catch up. On the 500+ mile days we road on the superslab it helps making good time on trips.

It does also help freeing up a hand to get a smoke out of your pocket and light it when you are not stopping for anything but gas
