Switching from mids
I have been pretty happy with my mids and highway pegs but have gotten to were I used the highway pegs 90% of the time, shifting and braking with my heels. Have gotten pretty good at doing that but had a situation were I needed to get on the brakes hard and I think the extra delay was almost costly.
So I was faced with stop using the highway pegs except when on open road or buy some forwards. So went for a ride yesterday and stopped at a dealer to try out some Dynas with forwards. After some testing I ordered some of the Custom Cycle peg elevators, some heel rests and some Kury forward controls.
I think the inch or so I get from the elevators is going to put them right were I will like them.
Will leave the mid pegs on for now as well.

I've been thinking I'd like to have mids , for better handling . Also , my legs are rather long , and if I keep forwards , I'm going to have to extend them . I haven't ridden with mids , but I have sat on a few Dynas with them . I think I could handle riding with them . It's the in between position I have now that I don't like .
I have a 30 inch inseam and they are just a tad to far. The peg elevators I ordered will move the pegs a little over a inch so with them and the heel rests I think I will like them.
I love my forwards.
The mids are a little cramping to me. I have a 32 in. inseam.
I always have a nagging thought in my mind though about needing to jump off the bike for whatever situation may arise, like about to get hit or about to rear end someone, and that's really not a possiblility with just forwards.
Probably a little far fetched to think about that, but maybe not really.
I think the forwards are harder on the lower back, but with your C&C seat berck you may not have that problem.
Hopefully I won't by next week.

I have forward controls, but on long runs (over 200 miles) my knees start hurting. yeah I know, I am old.
I bought a set of mid pegs from a brother on the forum here. On long runs I put the mid pegs on so I can move my legs around. No more pain in my knees. When I get to where I am going, I take them off.
The only reason I take them off at all is because they are the first thing to drag. By pulling them off I get quite a bit more lean angle. The heels of my boots and the back of my pipes are the next to hit.
And for Gawd's sake people.... Highway pegs should not be positioned so your legs are straight out. I never understand why people do that. Slightly bent and comfortable is the correct position.
