Didn't read all posts, but if someone hasn't said it already, before trying to break them loose, find a thin-nose center punch, put it into the recess of the head, and give it one good shot with a 32-oz ballpeen...seems to make them break loose like butter for me.

Yes, you have TP. No, you can't use a TP in a T - won't fit. You CAN but should NOT use a T in a TP - that's what causes cam out.

Get a set of TP and always try them first. If they fit, you're good to go. If they don't you found a regular Torx, although I don't believe you'll have any of those on your bike.

I'm glad that I stumbled across this tread before i went and bought a set of standard torx for my 2010.

What size should I go up to on a torx plus set.... t50, t55, t-60? What size of Allen (hex key) set to go to also much appreciated

The bolts that hold the fender on my 07 are 45. Can't say for sure but would assume they're the same on your newer model. I believe most sets go up to 50 so you should be good with that. Your choices are going to be limited anyway so get a decent set and then worry about buying the super big sizes only when and if you find a need for them.
