Hello there Army EOD! I've been looking into them myself for my FXD. Oh, by the way, I used to work with the USAF EOD folks when I was in the service. Not as an operator, I was support. Great bunch of guys! Oh, the memories . . .

I'm running a set that came off a street bob. 10'' I believe.

funny you should mention it, I just put some on to mock it up wireing reachs easy looks like I will need throttle idle chutch, and brake lines +4 should do it so I have enough play in all my cables

I did mine in just a couple of hours including the wire extensions. I did have to use longer cables and brake line.
I asked around on a few of the forums and picked up everything from a stock Street Bob that had been changed out in favor of taller apes.
They were in great condition and I got the bars, both throttle cables, the clutch cable and the brake line for $60.

I went with 12" Wild 1 Chubbys. Had to change the cables and all. But wanted the stainless steel over black in any case.

I have the mini-apes. Love them. You'll have to change your cables, but the wires should be okay. Make sure you know what you're getting, though, as there is variation from year to year. I don't remember off-hand when the break was, but some street bob/nightster mini-apes are 10" and some are 12".

Went with the 14 1/2" apes myself. My wife said that 10" was just not enough!
