Can someone give me some guidance. My 96 Dyna wouldn't start and the headlight and taillights and brake lights would not work but the turn signals would operate fine. I thought it was due to a bad battery so bought a new one, charged it up, cleaned contacts, installed and tightened connections and no change. Still won't crank or make any noise when I hit starter button and no lights work except the signals. Could this be an ignition switch issue? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank You,

 

Does it have a fuse anywhere? Usually bikes have a main circuit breaker, not a fuse, but even a circuit breaker could go bad.

Follow the positive wires off the battery, one will go directly to the starter and one should go to a circuit breaker or fuse. Check for continuity.

 

It was a bad ignition switch. Replaced ignition switch and solved all problems.

 

Wow! I hope it didn't take 13 years to fix it!
