i always cut them and just replace them, the clips have a small tab at the back that you have to get up and pull out the conectors, it is a pain in the *** so i always say screw it and replace them, all 4 conectors and 12 of the wire deals are under 10 bucks. black goes on the right side of the bike (brake side) and the white are on the clutch side... wires go from black, black/blue, and purple from left to right with the clip on the top.

what i would sugest is that you pull more of the wire from under the tank (there is plenty there) solder the new clips on the ends and put on the plug, then color match them for the new plugs on the male end. easy gig man let me know if you have any troubles, i just did it last Fri night on a 2010 that internally wired some black bars on

doesnt sound like that big of deal, take a pic and pull out the female connector and take the wire and connector to HD and have them put a new female end on the wire and clamp it with their (HD wire clamp tool) and your ready to go...

yeah, this is almost exactly what i ended up doing. i have a buddy who has a ton of electrical and soldering equipment. he was able to rebuild the connector by stripping the wire and soldering. no need to buy a new plastic housing, we were able to use what was there. we pulled slack from the tank and had plenty to work with.

all in all, a lot easier than i thought it would be. wiring just freaks me out. always has. but the know how is coming along.

bars look a lot cleaner now. now for the big back end chop....
