maximum tire sizes for 2010 wide glide
I want to replace my stock tires ( front 80/90 r21 rear 180/60 r17 ) with a one size increase. 90/90 r21 up front and a 190/60 r17 in the rear. Has anyone else done this, or gone to a size larger than this on stock wheels? If so, any mods needed and what are the best tires?
been searching for the same thing.noticed yours was old,so figured i would ask you?my buddy wants to put a bigger front on his '10 wide glide without changing the rim and fender?if you did,how big can you go?
This topic has been discussed a number of times and you can do a search, but bottom line for the rear is that with the existing rim the 180 is about as wide as you can go... I have heard people putting a 190 on it but it is not advisable. If you change out the rim you can easily get a 200 to fit without mods.
So I just put a new rear tire on my 2011 Dyna Wide glide. I took it to a great local shop in my area and they fit a 200/55-17 Michelin Commander ii on the stock rim no problem. It filled the fender out great. They also said that is the tire they will suggest to other wide glide owners. FYI Michelin states the commander ii will get 20k but I will see if it does.

I have an Avon Venom 90-90-21 on the front of my wide glide. I'm also considering putting an Avon Cobra 190-60-17 on rear of my bike. I've talked to a few indy shops and none of them seemed to have a problem with mounting a 190 on the 4.5 inch rim.
A lot of people are willing to do a lot of things for money. So the question really is: How much risk are you willing to take?
