Default Are my FXDWG shocks adjustable?

New Harley owner here with a question. I need to add some pre-load to my rear shocks. When my wife is riding with me, the shocks tend to bottom out when hitting a bump. The previous owner was a light weight dude and I am 240. It seems to be ok with one person but two is a little more than it is set up for. I am assuming that the bottoms of these shocks turn on some threads to load the springs more. Am I correct? Thanks in advance for the info EDIT>>> the shock I am talking about has the holes for a spanner type wrench. These are not the ones that have the cam and post as an adjustment

Pics might help but if they are stock then yes, they are adjustable for pre-load. You can get the adjustment tool from your dealer. I'm about the same size and I've ridden two up without any issues so they may be adjusted soft or my passengers are a bit lighter

Suggestion, invest in some aftermarket shocks. Purchase what you can afford. I've got the Progressive 412 HD on my 02 FXD and do a lot of local two riding and two up touring , the 412 HD accepts my weight and the wifes in great style. But back to your original question, yes they should be adjustable.

Thanks for the replies I don't have a close up of the shocks but they are the spring loaded ( I assume stock) shocks that are on my signature picture and look to be the same as the shocks on Swede405's picture Thanks for the recommendation for after market shocks. I will see what they cost and maybe can do something by spring For some reason, I can not attach a picture to this post although I have done it on other posts before Thanks
