Default Street Glide converts here?

The new wide glide has caught my eye! Been thinking seriously about trading-in the Streeter for one. Anyone here gone from a touring "back to" a cruiser? I typically rack-up 3-5 thousand miles a season on the tour bike. Wondering if a good shield for interstate would be enough. I did have a super glide years ago, so this would not be entirely new to me. Beer for any convincers out there!

cheers! -Al

You can put bags and a windshield on, however, you lose your radio and cruise.

Put on 9,000 last summer dude. Will put on at least 12-15k this summer. Ride 2-up 90% of the time.

Man, you baggers! (jk)

3-5k a season, where do you live, Alaska? On a cruiser I would say 10-12k is good, if I was on a touring bike, I would put the title to the test by touring! Easy 15-20k, but that is also called retirement!

I wouldn't trade your Street Glide in for the Wide Glide, I would just buy a second bike and work on putting 5k on both each riding season, share the love!!!

I've only put 9,500 on my Dyna in the last year...ooops.

Some day I want to get a Street Glide, want to try one out first though...maybe my friend will let me borrow his new CVO to test out.

I wouldnt mind having a touring bike but I wont be trading my WG for one. I am considering a SG or RK for a long trip bike. But until finances permit it I will be touring on my bar hopper

+1 on the used Dyna if you can afford it. Double the pleasure.

+1 Switcher..... Had a SG that was all decked out for Touring, Racked up 25K miles in 1 year. Loved that bike. Lost the Job... Sold it. Now I am working again and I wanted to try something different since 75% of my riding ended up being to and from Work. Loving the Dyna Wide Glide. For me the seating position is MUCH better than my SG. I like the Fwrd controls and the hand position of the stock bars. My right hand used to go to sleep in the first 5 miles on my SG. This bike and riding position cured it. I was fortunate enough to do a BUNCH of test riding before I bought it. So I would suggest you get some test rides in and see for yourself.

Traded in the DYNA on my Streetglide 12 March. Glad I did it.
