Default Autumn ride

Went for a two day ride Sunday and Monday. Trip to Lebanon, TN was routine. Took Hwy 70 to Sparta and 111 to Spencer, ride was good. Got on Hwy 30 in Spencer and rode to Athens and took Hwy 39 to Telico Plains and got on the Cherohala Skyway and rode to Robbinsville, NC. Hwy 30 and 39 were unbeliveable. Nice smooth curvy roads that was more enjoyable than Deal's Gap and the Dragon's Tail we road Monday. The Cherohala Skyway is always enjoyable, although at the TN/NC line at 5,000 + feet, it was cold, not nippy, COLD. All the leaves were gone, the trees were barren, at around 3,000 feet the leaves returned. Spent the night in Robbinsville. Left Monday morning for Deal's Gap, 37 degrees but we were mostly prepared for it. Stopped at Deal's Gap, there were some bikes there. The Dragon's Tail was a little intimidating with leaves on the road and not much traffic to keep them blown off. Rode 129 to 72 to Kingston and 70 to Crossville and got on 70N back to Lebanon where we split up and each headed home. The Crab Orchard Mts. around Rockwood, TN just added more awe to the awsome scenery. We cut out trip short to get home before the rain came in. If we had of stayed and rode 200 miles in the cold rain, 6 months from now that would have been all we talked about. Now we have more enjoyable memories. We made over 550 miles without even a near miss. We were blessed.

Nice trip. I wish I could of got a longer ride in before the rain and cold hit us here in PA. It has been raining for the most part all of October. The last stretch of no rain was the last week in September and I was in Colorado watching it snow.

Have any pics of your trip ??

You should "kick the **** off your shoes, and come to Virginia"........... We have had some really good riding days here in Northern VA, most of the real crappy weather went North (PA).

What part of PA you in???
