2009 FXD Superglide purchase
Thanks everyone for the wisdom,
I know I am a terrible negotiator but I have him to $9500.00, take it or leave it, offer good till Monday. I don't have a dealership within 200 miles so shopping for year end deals or waiting for a deal to surface has been frustrating. They are not too helpful at the dealer, guess business is good. I am always a day late and a dollar short finding deals. By the time I had a new one home it would be 13,400+. It is interesting the list price of the 2009 custom was 12999. The 2011 is the same. There must be hidden costs there somewhere. At any rate the cost is 71% of a new one and it has less than 1700 miles. If I can get the 1000 mile service verified, I will be on a bus Tuesday morning, for today it's the Sportster, dodging rain clouds on a beautiful fall day.
Thanks folks, ride on.
John

I got mine 2009 FXD for $9900 last October with 2.8k miles from a dealer.
Your price seems fine. If then seller won't budge then don't fret - as someone said in another thread, it's a buyer market. If you have to you can always get a new one for a few grand more. If the seller budges, and you do get this bike, you saved a few grand and got an almost new bike. Either way you're in good shape.

Yee haw,
I flew into to MSP this morning and picked up the Superglide in question here and drove it home this afternoon.
A few imperfections, mostly shipping blunders, but for all practical purposes a new bike, if I knew how to post photos I would include but when I try to attach it asks for a URL instead of a file name??? Black Dyna FXD Custom, nothing fancy, stock.
I was one block from a Independent so I went ahead and had all the fluids changed since I can't be certain if the 1000 mile was done. I got more info on the bike today and a HD dealer in Kansas is running it down for me but why risk it?
They did not have HD products so I will change the Primary to the HD tomorrow.
"FORMULA+ Transmission and Primary Chaincase Lubricant". I do like that $17.00 dollar a quart super lube.
The 20-50 I will get a little use out of before changing it again. Probably do a 2000 mile service. I put 350 miles on it today and it ran like a top, but waaaaayyyy to quietly. The original filter was leaking a bit so I have to learn the best method for cleaning oil from the silver powder coat??
Thanks for the help, I am so happy with my new Glide.
