Rear Brake Failure

On my last bike 07 XL1200C the rear caliper bolt was slightly cross threaded and didn't allow the brake to function.
First break job to it, aluminum caliper with very fine threads.
I fixed it myself by removing the caliper bolt, apply the brake and threaded the bolt in square. Of course I originally messed it up but didn't know it.
Easy fix but even the mechanic was stumped.
I rode the bike to his garage only to have to ride it back home with no back breaks.
Freeway and all it sucks with no back breaks.

Looking at the drawing I assume that you are referring to the brake pedal shaft pivot. They can get a little rusty and start to seize. Be sure to keep it well lubricated. I upgraded my controls and have had no further issues with this. Good luck and keep a close eye on it. Remember, keep it well lubricated!
