Help with Slip-on install question
After removing three bolts that hold on the stock mufflers do they slide right off? Or will I have to beat on them to get em off?
The stockers only were on the bike for a year. Don't know if they get rusted on like car mufflers do.
Second do I need new muffler claps or can I use the same ones over again.
Finally I don't have a torque wrench will I be fine just tighting up with a regular rachet and box wrench?
Not sure what the torque spec. is for the slip-ons is anyway.
Thanks for the help. Kind of new to modding my own stuff and I don't want to mess it up.

I just replaced mine ('07 Street Bob) with a set of used Screaming Eagles. I reused clamps, but there were 4 bolts - one on each muffler for the clamp, one on each one for the bracket.
I had to loosen clamps, remove bracket and pull, tug, jerk ect. to get them off.
You may want to have someone either sit on bike or at least hold her. Mine was ok, but I was plenty nervous.
After you get everything in place, leave bolts a little loose, take a step back and make sure that it looks level. Once it looks level, then just tighten everything up, take a test ride and enjoy the new "soundtrack" of your bike

If my memory serves me correct there is one bolt on the muffler clamp and one bolt holding the muffler to the mounting bracket. 2 bolts per muffler x 2 mufflers = 4 bolts to loosen. The OP mentioned only loosening 3.
The mounting bracket is behind the mufflers, between the muffler and the frame. It's mounted at the clutch cover. Do not remove the bracket unless you are doing a complete exhaust swap.

What type of bike are we talking. My 06 SuperGlide had 1 bolt at each clamp, then a bracket that locked the two mufflers together with 2 bolts on each muffler. That was it.
I started by loosening the clamps and removing the brace between the mufflers. The I started with the top muffler and wiggled it up and down until it came lose. Same for the bottom one.
I used new clamps but I think I could have gotten away with reusing the old ones.

As stated in my post above, I reused my clamps - You might want to rethink that - Beautiful morning this morning so I took a ride out to the Carefree Highway. I heard this "tink-tink" sound and my bike got REAL loud.
I looked back and my new (used) Screamin Eagle slip-ons were sliding to the shoulder. I went back and picked them up. They were still usable (will need a lot of elbow grease and polish, but structurally sound).
After securing them in some bushes (I couldn't figure out how to carry them on my Street Bob), I went back in my truck then swung up to the HD dealer and spent about $15 on a pair of new clamps.
I'll try to get them cleaned up and put back on today still so that I can continue my ride early tomorrow AM. I like it out by myself in the early AM when it is cool and very little traffic

Thanks for all that replied, I can't want to have my Fat Bob sound like a Harley. It's just to quiet with the syock mufflers, sounds like a sewing machine at times. Just rode some of the new 103s at the dealer today, they sound alot better than mine.

The spray lube is your friend, like he said. It will go alot easier for you and save you the trouble of getting worn out.
I emery clothed the mating surfaces before installing the muffler and greased it up with some anti-seize. The next time it came off a lot easier.
