Hummm. I have to say that looks pretty cool. In another post I installed a similar spring solo seat and didn't install the springs. I just hard mounted it as shown in my sig pic. After seeing the options in this thread I have concluded two things. First, I really do not like the clothes pin style springs (no offense guys, JMHO) as much as I first thought. BUT, I do like the coil spring look. Your setup really does work well. Once again, this forum has given me more to consider than I expected.
Yes, I'd like some details as well. I do like the coil spring look as well. Perhaps over the winter I'll look at the possibility of doing something similar. I'm committed to the concept I just may need to tweak it a bit.
Is there a way to rig the solo seat so that it comes off quickly and easily and then be able to put the 2 up seat back on? Even better is there anyone with pictures of this?
I used the dyna spring base as the starting point for my classic Harley tractor seat. Very comfortable in the same way a horse saddle is. Not padded, shaped. I have over 43,000km on my over the last 18 months, including the 1000 km I did last Saturday in 42c heat.
