Corroded front legs 1300 miles on the clock

Not saying the OP is wrong about the issue at hand, but we do live in a world where something will always eat away at something else and bare polished aluminum or bare steal is just begging to be chewed up by the elements. If you don't wax your cage or the tins on the bike even they will suffer the effects of oxidation. Just because your bike is only a few weeks or months old, doesn't mean the the parts on it where made just prior to installation on the bike, hell they could have been sitting on a shelf for the last 5 years in perfect shape, after all it's not like they are a new design.
Polish them up, coat them or let them take their natural coarse.......either way they are what you make of them.......just ride it like you stole it!

I am going to find some good donor legs (hopefully they are not totally unique to the bike like everything else.)
powder coat them so they look like bare metal but really colored powder.
don't even want to bother the dealer with it. they are going to be plenty busy putting new motor in this thing when I wear it out. no way it is ever going to last two years.
can you powder coat over an acid base primer or does it only adhere to bare metal?

Zinc oxide is a great anti-corrosion undercoating for paint but it doesn't fill small imperfections as well as regular automotive primer. Overall, I think your best bet is powder coat for this application.
