Default What is the difference in Stages?

So I am conceeding to buying an a/c and fuel pak since I am still getting variable responses on whether or not I need those items if I am going with a new full exhaust. I probably would have bought them eventually anyway.

So my question is.....What is the difference between a Stage 1 a/c, or the other stages? I am guessing there is at least a Stage 2, otherwise there wouldnt be a 1.

Lots of answers out there in Google-land, but anyway...

The 'stages' aren't any kind of agreed standard but generally its something like:

Stage-1 is free-flowing air cleaner and exhaust plus a fuel retune to match.

Stage-2 is stage-1 plus hotter cams plus fuel and timing to match.

Stage-3+ involves opening the engine and doing stuff like heads, crank, etc.

Riders and different bike makers have their own interpretation of the stages but the above will do.
