Default stage 1

bought a 2010 wideglide, love it ! now ready to make some changes with a/c and exhaust. trying to decide which way to adjust efi, eg.. remap, tfi or a long list of other options.. but i just read an artical from nighter.com telling me it is not nessecery if only doing a/c and exhaust upgrade. anyone agree. is it all hype. just keep getting more confused the more i try to learn. help.............................

I don't agree. If you only change the a/c or only the exhaust, then I wouldn't say you have to remap. If you do both, change the exhaust and go to a high flow air cleaner, then you should deffinately use one of the fuel management devices. By changing both a/c and exh. your motor will be flowing more air through it and if you don't add more fuel you will make it run lean which means hot and thats not good. Hope this helps, good luck.

The thing is you will spend $150 to get a stage 1 download like i did when you can spend $239 from Fuel Moto and get a mapped unit ready to install...mush better than stage 1.

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/engin...burnt-top.html I wouldn't do exhaust or intake without a tuner, they run kinda lean to start with.
