doesn't look good for 17in whitewalls
sent an email to metzler to see if they had any plans to make a 17in whitewall
here's how it went
i'll try and send something to avon as well
so, we either flood them w/ requests (yeah right) or change wheels (or go w/ the paint)
oh well
here's how it went
are there any plans for a 17in rear whitewall (that will fit on the 06-07 harley dyna line)
Hello
And thanks for the e-mail we have had no requests and we have no plan in place for a 17 WWW tire.

Ok, HD make a bike called the Street Bob, in a loose theme of the bobbers from the 50s and 60s. A lot of the original bobbers were running a whitewall tyre on the rear. With that in mind and the global market that HD has, you'd think that Metzeler, Avon and Dunlop would be falling over each other to make a 17" whitewall. Go figure....

It'll look better on a 15" rim anyway. More...fat...white...sidewall.

on the back rim, the problem i think is now w/ the brake and belt sprocket being so big, you pretty much loose the tire back there w/ anything smaller than a 17. i've seen that one pic w/ a 16 and the belt sprocket pretty much covers the whole rim, i can't imagine w/ a 15. w/o a sproter setup, you'd be wasting money on any painted or special rear rim i think.
the pics are one w/ 16in rims
