I would call customer service and ask for a "Good Will" repair. Its a known issue and they should help you out, if not, I would raise hell.

I would hope they would do something about it for a victim of an issue this common.

Is this something my purchasing dealership probably couldn't do anything about?

Also, will they want the old broken fender back? I have pics of my broken one is that enough proof?

Thanks

Does this cracked fender issue only show up with the dog-dick attached?

Mine is 2010 with every hole welded shut and shaved except for the one seat bolt. I have no issues. As a matter of fact, I just had my fender off the bike last week, while changing a tire, and I inspected it completely and there were no issues.

Yeah apparently the weight of the tail light and license plate bracket cause this.

I called the moco customer service line today and got a reference number to go to a dealer with to get the process started.

It's not so much the tail light, but the license plate attached to the tail light. The plate acts like a sail putting upward force on the fender.

When you get a new fender side mount the plate and chances are you won't have another cracked fender.

I already made a mount for the plate so I'll be good to go
