You can remove it later. Use Isopropyl alcohol diluted 50:50 or 70:30 with water to make sure all wax is removed. To make it easier to remove make sure you have it on thick. The more coats the better. Two thin coats would require quite a bit of picking to get it all off. 4 light coats makes it easier (or fewer heavy coats). It will peel off in more of a solid piece. This experience was from car wheels.

I tried it on my tank, The only downfall is that gas eats it away.

I have used this on quite a few sets of car wheels for my winter tire setups, stuff works great, yes chemicals and other elements can eat away at it, but very easy to touch up.

To the OP, I really like the look of the covers and blacking stuff out, coming together great. My only suggestion and you can throw it out like a box of farts if you don't like it, try cutting with a razor blade, the "WIDEGLIDE" letters on the battery box band to show through in chrome since you will still have some chrome bits here and there, worst case scenario, you don't like the look and have to respray it.

This is why I put gas in my tank, not on it.

Headlamp next, heavy breather, food controls, handlebars. Waiting on some parts at the moment.

Your scooter looks great, but how about pulling those reflectors off?
