I have a 06 dyna.
I use Amsoil 20/50 in Engine & Primary.
And in the Trans I use Amsoil Severe Gear oil.

HD uses gear oil in the trans, and so do I. Can you use oil, sure thats what they say. But why? HD says Gear oil. jmo.

The Harley Davidson Syn-3 Synthetic Oil is 20W-50. The "3" means all three holes, so the answer is yes.

Brand is up to you or who can convince you that their's is the best. Lot of good choices out there. I use Mobil 1 because it is easy to get, does go on sale on ocassion and is one of the better oils. I also hear that Walmart is going to start carrying the 5 quart jugs of 15W-50 again sometime in the next few months. Used to be under $25 for the jug.

I wouldn't suggest using 20-50 in the tranny
I am currently using Amsoil 20-50 in the crank,Spectro Platinum 6 spd in the trans and Redline primary in the primary,I know its a pain in the arss using 3 different products but so far this has been the best combo I have found for my particular bike...good luck
