2011 super glide lowered/bars/riser
Folks,
Just posting up for the heck of it.. was running drag bars on a 9" rise 2" pull back dog bone style riser (for sale).. before 6" riser w/ dragbar and no pull back but the 4" in the dragbar..
im am leaving it as set up below:
solid riser bushings, 6" straight riser, Khrome Works low rise bar, burly slammer shocks, drag specialties wide black levers..
took 2 hours to do the whole thing from shocks to levers... LOVING the bike now..
take away..
1)anyone with ANY mechanical aptitude can do shocks/bar/riser.. you dont need a lift for anything
2)loving the slammed shocks.. on setting 3 and ride 2 up.. that said i ride all over Houston TX and spots of road that didnt throw me off the seat now do.. but i haul ***.
3)i did the BACK ONLY.. the bike DOES NOT feel as balanced as an OEM bike.. the spring rates are different.. that said.. i can push through long sweepers @ 60-80mph (houston TX overpasses are very high and fast.. dont get me started on the wind effect) and the bike will upset a bit but nothing uncomfortable.
4) very satisfied w/ dennis kirk/drag specalties/khrome works product/service..
5) a win win and enjoyed wrenching on the bike again.
oh 5a) hated the rubber bushings.. went solid and will never go back.. yes i feel everthing in the front end.. im ok with that
edit oh oh.. IMHO.. there is NO reason at ALL for a short jiffy if you are just doing the back.. cant speak for dropping both front and back..
loving the gremilin bell.. ring ring ring
