Question 2011 wide glide handle bars

Ok first post so let me know how I do but I have a pretty stock 2011 wide glide that I wanna start working on (started on a iron 883 did all my work to it and I'm a car mechanic) with that being said I wanna do handle bars on my bike but I don't know if I wanna change cabels if I drop down to a 1/2 inch risers with a 1 inch clamp diameter (for better bar selection) how high of a bar can I go on factory cables I was told 8 to 10 was gonna be fine at the dealer not sure if that's right I want a nice set of t bars or the different riser and do z bars any help would be amazing thanks in advance

Hmm. RG bars already go back and up more than most stock bars. These other bars are good suggestions, but also consider a seat that sits you an inch or two forward. Some seats can be modified as well. Go take ride with some kind of pad that pushes up and see if that helps.

Default New Wide Glide Bars

The stock bars were pretty low...I guess it all depends on how high you want the bars to be. A set of low zbars will work with stock cables but if you try to run the electrical cables inside zbars, you will find it a chore. If you run them externally, you should be good to go.
If you want higher bars, be prepared to bite the bullet and buy new cables. I would say you can get maybe six inches of slack in the stock cables but I wouldn't press my luck over that
Also be aware that the spread of the bars will change how much height you can get by with. For instance, a set of beach bars has a much wider spread than stock so you won't be able to go as high with that type of bar.
When you change the bars be careful with the tiny wires in the switch packs as they damage easily and will give you trouble if any of them are pinched as they will short out. Finding the short can be a challenge.
Good luck

My guess is that the OP either gave up or figured it out after his post 5 years ago, since he had zero responses.
