94 Dyna 5spd questions
Trying to fix a trans leak on my Dyna. Disassembled and removed the inner primary and found the final drive sprocket loose. Looks like the splines on the 5th gear/output gear are worn a little (sprocket worn more). First question is: does the trans need to be fully disassembled to remove the splined output gear? Or can it be removed through the case with a bearing puller? My manual seems to not have this information. The other question I have is on the clutch hub there was this spiral lock ring holding a washer that said (this side out) it looked bent so I pulled it out so I could replace it. Again, in my manual it does not show this! The clutch hub nut looks like it would go through the center of this washer up against another washer that fits in a recess over the center of the hub. Is this even needed? I've been an auto mechanic for almost 30 years and can't quite figure it out. Thanks for your time.
