i have a 2011 fat bob tank that is dented and would like to buy another one but are hard to find used.

what other dyna tank will fit the fat bob?
i know the ignition has to be on the tank but what models would just slide right on?

 

i would think a wide glide tank would fit.

 

Don't know the answer to your question for sure, but do you really want to do that?

Not sure how bad your tank is. I have a 2008 FXDF tank that's dented but quite repairable (just haven't gotten to it) if you are interested.

Check out New Castle Harley online. They have great prices. Or, just be patient. When they come up, you can get great deals on tins of all types.

Here's the description of 2011 models ...

• FXDF: 5.0-gallon Fat Bob fuel tank
• FXDC: 5.0-gallon Super Glide Custom fuel tank
• FXDB: 4.7-gallon Street Bob fuel tank
• FXDWG: 4.7-gallon Street Bob®-style fuel tank, raised at the front .75-inch

Then, I looked up the parts and added 1 FXDF and 1 FXDC tank to the shopping cart. I ended up with 2x part no. 61586-04B
When I added FXDWG and FXDB tanks, 1 got 2x the same part number for them ... 61593-10

So, there you go ... the answer is a FXDC tank will fit a FXDF (at least for 2011 model years)
The other Dyna tanks might fit, but they are smaller and use a different console, so maybe not.

 

another option is to send us your stock tank we can pull the dent and coat it

 

Anything 06+ FXDC or FXDF. I believe Colormania has a bunch listed on Ebay right now in vivid black for $475 buy it now which is a great price for a tank.

 

It is the same Fat Bob gas tank from 2008 to 2012.
Also, based on our experience; any 08-12 FXDC & 04-09 FXDWG gas tank would also fit your 2011 FXDF as they're all the same OEM p/n.
