Default Popped Crash Bar Tab-How Much Will it Devalue My Bike?

I lost my job over the summer, and if I don't find one soon, I might have to sell my 2010 Fat Bob. The problem is that the bolt hole for the crash bar is popped through. The bike is in great shape otherwise. I just wanted to get some opinions on how much it could cost me? Below is a pic of the bike and a pic of the tab.

It wouldn't keep me from buying the bike, just put large washer on inside and problem solved. I'm sure someone will talk down the bike when you point it out, act like its a major issue. I wouldn't come off my price for that. Just leave the crash bar bolted up with washer and let it ride.

How did it happen? Cause that could play a factor if it leans to a bent or tweaked frame..... Just a thought.

It was a very low speed accident. A car pulled out in front of me. The frame is fine, I've had it checked, and the other damage was cosmetic and has been fixed.

I wouldn't trip too much, just be honest about it, and im sure any buyer will understand.

What he said: however, I would paint it black so it doesn't look so "fresh".

Wouldn't stop me from buying the bike. Just my .02

Unfortunately it absolutely ruins the value of the bike. You would never get past $5k for the bike. I'll be by tomorrow to pick it up!

Sorry, someone was gonna say it, figured it'd be me.

Mine looked exactly the same when I bought my Street Bob (it was an insurance total). I just used a larger washer when it was time to reinstall crash bars. It happens to pretty much any Dyna that falls over while moving.

If you are looking for work, try the Dakotas. South Dakota has 11,000 unfilled jobs, North Dakota has even more. High end welders are in special demand and can start at close to $100k.

We're not talking about anything "sinister" here. Not like the frame has been critically damaged.

If it were me I'd be certain to match hardware on both sides. If it needs a washer on one side put one on the other side too. Hitting them with a little paint couldn't hurt.

But more importantly I hope you find a great job soon and get to keep her!!!
