Hi after knowledge as to whether Harley can still remanufacture your original frame for you when you exchange or surrender your original head stem showing your VIN..

That is an interesting question. I cannot imagine why, in this day and age, they would bother to administer such a program. Would be nice if they did..............

I was told and have read before that Harley did it, for those circumstances where for instance someone might suffer damage to a motorcycle frame that deems it un repairable. For instance you have a brand new bike where you hit something and damage your frame yet everything else on the bike is still fine. Then you can get a new frame with matching VIN numbers rather than scrap your bike or have to buy some after market frame that devalues it.
However I was told here in australia that harley stopped doing it, I am trying to find out whether this is true or just a case of that now australian dealers dont bother doing it due to the hassles of importing/shipping.

I have a replacement frame on my '08 Fat Bob; Installed February '11 after an accident damaged the frame and rear end of my bike. Repair done by an authorized dealer, frame was shipped to them.

Thanks for the info.. I recently purchased a bike that had frame damage I missed, its a 2010 fat bob. I was going to try contact Harley direct in the states and am hoping that if need be and my bike is deemed un roadworthy at any stage that I can do the same and organise a change of frame through a dealer. I figure if Harley still actually do it then I can pursue it with the authorised dealers that it is purely only their own laziness and not that harley dont offer this service.

Buddy of mine got a new frame in his Street Glide last summer. It's not a quick process by any means, but it's still being done here in the states. The dealer has to cut out 3 pieces of the frame and HD will make one with matching numbers.
