Problem is most floor jacks arent low enough to get under the bike by itself. Especially with a board on top of it. And then you still have an unstable platform. Add in lowered shocks and good luck with that. Its a two person job. The red Sears MC jack with the "longhair" mod is cheap and a way better option. I use mine all the time for all kinds of stuff. And once its up and locked its completely stable

I agree bout the jack, but if the op dont have a bike jack it still could be done with a floor jack, remember the bike isnt off the ground, untill you jack it up onto a 2x4 to remove it. the key is have a buddy holding bike. the poupose of using the jack is to lower it down slowy till the holes line up. if you had 3 people a jack wouldnt be necessary. Just lift and hold.
