Shorter shocks vs Lowering Blocks
Was just curious what the difference would be in going with shorter shocks such as Burleys than lowering blocks.
Is there a big difference in the ride?
Thanks!

Lowering blocks will allow the swingarm to move up farther before the shocks hit the end of their travel, so the tire may rub the fender, or wiring inside the fender when going over large bumps.
Neither of the above will help your ride. In fact most people go with higher shocks / suspension so they can hang lower in tight turns. It looks more bad azz but in reality you will be reducing your bike's already limited capabilities.
Ive never felt limited on my lowered WG. But then again I never felt the need to ride my WG like an AMA pro racer either... Last bike I had I did lowering blocks and rubbed the fender from time to time. Haven't had any issues with the Burly's.
my bike is slammed about as low as you can go and i can hold my own with anyone in the turns... i personally will NEVER run blocks, the shock angle change blows, in fact on pretty much every air shock i have seen where guys run blocks they blow out the shocks
that said our shop can lower you stock shocks and powder them. we do them pretty often, we have done a ton for forum members

I have lowering blocks and havent had any unusual problems. I prefer them because they have more suspension travel (since you are using your 12" shock) whereas the burlys being 10.5" don't have as much travel. Also, you can take the blocks off and run stock height again if you ever want to change it up, without having to shelf another pair of shocks.
