Default Extremely Disappointed With My Bassani...Help

It's my own fault for not doing better research I guess. I just looked at their website, and discolored chrome is not covered under their warranty once the pipe is installed. The lower heat shield only comes as far back as the tranny cover, and sure enough, after only 500 or so miles, I've got discoloration starting on the pipe. You'd think they would design a system that has full coverage heat shields instead.

So now what? Does anyone have any suggestions? I've got half a mind to sell the Bassani at a loss, put my VH BR2-1 back on and have a custom bracket mount made for my footboard kit. Clearance with the VH and the footboard kit was what prompted my exhaust change in the first place.

How about telling us what Bassani pipes you have and showing some pics.

Your bike must be running extremely lean for the pipe to turn...

Hey fatglidin, I got the Bassani 2-2 Pro Streets on my 13' Wide Glide and they did the same thing very fast, so dont feel like your the only one. The heat shields worked good but then the blueing started to go past the heat shields, so I just removed them. Kinda think it looks pretty cool all blued and hot looking. Although this winter I may get them powdercoated with some high heat powder. Chrome + Heat = wild colors haha. Lets see some pics of it though, kinda wanna see how it looks with it! Awesome pipe though they sound and perform great

Is it just bluing or turning some other funky color? Can you take a close pic?

Hey, Joe K! Sorry to hear about the discoloration. Depending on length and diameter you might try fitting a 'universal' chrome heat shield over the eyesore....

I'm not sure but I think the only pipes with anti-blue guarantee is V&H. Just how ugly is it? Have to see a pic.

Sorry to hear that. I remember when you were posting trying to figure which pipes would fit with the footboards. I like the VH Propipe but I can`t find a answer if footboards will fit with it. I know the Supertrapp Supermeg will work with boards.

If it has turned blue form heat you might want to try blue away, it does a good job. Been around a long long time.
We used it on older triumphs and HD's way back an dit did good.
just a thought.
you must be running hot-lean.
