Default Shock Springs

Hello All! I have a problem bottoming out on my Dyna Lowrider. Does anyone know how to adjust the shock springs? I have a service manual and is states it can be done but it's not clear on how to do it. Thanks Ride On.

If you look at the bottom of the shock you will see some notches cut all the way arround, you need a shock adjusting tool to fit in there then you can adjust them. Or if you have a jack you can lift you rear tire off the ground and turn the shock by hand. This is how ive done mine.

You can also use one of those strap type tools to grip the lower part of the shock cover to adjust the shock.

If you're confused about the settings, just remember that the more shock exposed at the bottom the more preload or stiffness.

Good Luck

It's called a spanner wrench, and every dealer should carry them. I still had one from my old metric bikes....and that worked just as well. Usually, they cost around 10 bucks.
Or you could do it the old fashioned way...get a good grip on it and give it a twist.

Springs are stiff, ride is too, start on the lowest setting. Miss the potholes when & if you can.
