just installed thundermax, have a question about pigtail connector
I just installed a thundermax from fuelmoto on my 2009 FXDL. The install was pretty easy. Once installed the bike started and ran fine. I can connect to the software with a usb cable through the installed pigtail connector. I can read, write, and monitor all fine with the bike not running. As soon as I try to monitor the bike when running, I lose my connection. I have the pigtail connected to pin 16, and 32 in the connector and I grounded the black wire on the cradle bolt. The instructions on that were not clear. I had a set of added instructions that said to put the black wire in pin 10 in the connector, but the other main instructions said to ground on the cradle bolt.
Can someone confirm which is the proper way on a 2009 fxdl?

I had same exact problem. Zippers needs to send you a new updated pigtail.
What you have was two wires that get installed into connector and one ground to frame.
The new one has the same two in the connector but the ground now also gets installed into the connector.

I have the one with three connectors on it. That should of pointed me in the direction of putting it in the #10 slot of the connector. I'll try it that way. You would think a ground would be equal either way it was hooked up, but I guess not. Did you just leave the green and black wire removed from the #10 slot hanging loose?

Good deal.
Had they just explained that to me when I spoke to support a few weeks back I could have just terminated the ground as well.
Doesn't make sense why it didn't work one way but works the other. At least it works though.
Best wishes.
As far as cut wires, I taped them off and slid them back into the harnesss away from moisture
