Performance opinions aside ( I just like the way these look ), is ones clear cut winner over the other ? I'm guessing no, and of course the K&N one is cheaper even though they manufacture both elements. I'm referring the the air charger/ heavy breather style.

I wouldn't be surprised if K&N makes the SE version of the intake anyway. You know HD doesn't make it. I wouldn't hesitate to use the K&N product. These guys know what they are doing.
Check out figuremachine.com for one of the cheapest versions of the heavy breather. Quality is good and they don't break the bank. My buddy just got one from there and it's nice.
Personally, I wouldn't use any type of "oiled gauze" filter unless space restrictions made it necessary. Yup, I've used plenty of 'em, and noticed how much dirt they pass.
Some of the latest Screaming Eagle filters are a non-oiled, but still washable variety, with fewer large visible holes. Probably not available yet in the style you're interested in.
Does any air filter change require a remap or something or should I expect errors? Stupid question, but I'm stupid. I have SE slipons on 96TC, runs great but we all want a little more. Thanks.
