I prefer the Power vision. It is the best on the market (IMO). If not the PV, maybe the PCV or Fuelmoto micro tuner.

I would suggest making sure you don't have any exhaust leaks before adding any type of tuning device. The micro tuner works like a Dobeck TFI, in which it is only an injector tuner. It will adjust your AF ratio at various throttle positions & RPM ranges. I doubt it has the ability to add fuel on decel (which you might need). Expect your gas mileage to take a hit. I ran a Dobeck unit & while it did eliminate my decel pop, I had to set the AF rich enough that my gas mileage really suffered. I recently installed a Power Vision & the difference in how my bike runs is amazing. Nothing can take the place of a good tuner with a spot on map. As long as you understand the limitations of the Micro Tuner, and you're comfortable with them, go for it. Just my .02. Hope you get it all sorted out & get your bike running better.

the Micro is nice, but you'll want the PV. I do.

First, you have to have a tuner.

An ECM download, just richens up your AFR slightly.
Still EPA compliant.

First, a decel pop is generally caused by a lean condition. Too much air snuffs the gas in that split second when the spark goes off so the unburnt fuel collects in the header pipe and as you deceleate air gets sucked in from the rear. Why does it do it more with short shots? There is less distance for the recurrent air to travel in and meet the gas = POP! No harm can come of this unless you give some innocent bystander a heart attack!
second the dealer D/L is not a total waste as it does at least raise the rev-limiter, but that is the extent worth of your expenditure.I'm sorry to say that I highly doubt they will reimburse you. In fact when I asked they told me if I want it turned off they had to chage me again! Those two hundy would have got you very close to a full tuner.
Third Call fuel moto, they always help out their customers. Jamie takes care of the powervision, you would need to speak with Kieth for any lower cost tuning modules. If you plan on keeping your beloved bike then don't scrimp on the tuner it is one of the most important investments you will make.

I had the Cobra Fi2000 auto tuner installed, along with V&H Big Shots and a S/E air intake. My bike runs cooler and has great throttle response, with little decal pop. After 2000 miles the pop got worse, so I read a lot of the posts about decal popping and checked for leaks. I found my exhaust bolts were loose. Haven't had a chance to ride since, but hoping that helps.
