I have racked up a lot of time on a Super Glide and cant rave about them enough. One of Harleys finest. The changes I would make would be a Stage one air cleaner and exhaust system. Personally I am not a fan of slip on's and when I get a little money ahead I am going to go Thunder Header and dump the Vance and Hines. I guess you will need a tuner also, but being an old school carb guy could not advise you on that. Have a blast!!!

Super Glide is the best bargain for the money. Good choice.

Hey new guy congratulations your new bike, it looks exactly like mine. I got mine two years ago for exactly the same reason, I got tired of turning 4000 rpm's on the expressway just to keep up.

e3troy, congrats! I'm also 6'2'' and have no problem with my 2008 FXDC. Completely enjoy my ride but I do agree with the others about the rear shocks bottoming out on bumps!

Bought my SG Custom in February but it was a 2009 with 678 miles. The previous owner had installed HD 1.25" beach bars with 4" risers, a detachable wind screen, HD edge cut levers, grips and pegs, HD forward controls, detachable luggage rack and sissy bar, Vance and Hines slip ons, battery tender and relocated turn signals front and rear. I've installed chrome switch covers, reinstalled mid pegs, Chrome coil cover, HD Engine Guard, 12 Volts power port, Old No.7 brand derby and timing covers, HD helmet lock, modified nostalgic rear brake pedal, knurled seat **** with searated washer, handelbar mounted weatherproof GPS holder.

It's yours to customize.
