At my local HD dealership they have a 2001 FXDX Superglide Sport for sale at 31,000 miles for roughly 7500. I was wondering if this it's a good deal or I should pass?
Thank you for the help

Sounds like a good deal to me, however, I would steer clear if it has Magneti Mirelli fuel injection.
Sorry I'm not a gear head Is there a thread that would explain why that would be bad? Also is 31000 miles to high for a bike like that because one of my buddy was like that's a ton of miles
That is a decent price for a dealer. You could do a lot better on E-Bay or Craigslist. Ask the dealer if the cam chain tensioner has been done yet. That is 1k repair if not and is due at 30k. An 01 will have a CV carb so you are good there. 30 k is not great but ok if bike was maintained properly.

30k miles is nothing. People are putting 100k on those bikes. Can chain tensioners is a big bill. I think you could do better else where. If it's stock, if paid around $6500, depending on the cam chain tensioners.
To me, the price seems quite high. My 2005 FXDLI with 9,000 miles cost less than $1,000 more than the bike the OP is writing about. Perhaps the prices are lower where I live because I'm within an hour's drive of four HD dealerhsips so there is a lot of competition but still... I wouldn't pay that much for it.
Well thats good to know. I will make sure to ask about it. And also i. Ant find out out how many carbs are on the bike. I would beall for looking longer but i only have 2000 and people are not up for cobtracts deal like a dealership is...
Go to your local credit union. If Harley will finance you, so will a credit union. If its an 01 you have a CV carb. They didn't start fuel injection on Dyna's till 05 or 06.
I dont think a bank will finianace for me i have prettg terfible credit. And i will have to look up with a cv carb is. I thought it waz 04 they started the fuel injections
