how hard to install -1 kickstand?
#2
Technically it's simple, but a bit awkward because of the location. The bike needs to be elevated so that you can get a good view of the working area, and also because you'll need some ground clearance to finnagle the jiffy stand and the pivot block out from underneath the bike (make sure the bike is safely secured while in the air - you're going to be underneath it!). There's a retaining pin approx 2-1/2" or 3" long that's secured by a cotter pin. Once you remove the pin you can lift and wiggle the jiffy stand and block off the frame, but it takes a little trickery to find the right angle. Removing the old/putting on the new stand onto the pivot block is straight-forward and easy to do, but installing it back onto the bike takes a little more trickery but should go a little easier because of the experience you gained earlier during the removal of the old stand. Slide retainer pin in and be sure to use new cotter pin to secure it and you're done. Hope it goes well for you.
