To add to my response.. you can use any gaskets that work and are designed for the 2006 Dyna. Just make sure you replace the Inner Primary Bearing with a Baker Sealed bearing because since you removed the inner primary.. it has a MUCH better chance of going back on misaligned because of the 2 missing inner primary alignment dowels that the 2006 Dyna's don't have. When I took mine off everything was perfect so its possible that my IPB may have lasted for a very long time BUT... because I removed my inner primary housing it has a very good chance of going back on with a slight bit of misalignment. The Baker High Torque bearing part # 189-56 will take care of that. Its only $40.00

Take the bike to a friggin SHOP! If you have no clue what an oil seal is then you should not be working on the bike yourself.

Do you even have a HD Service Manual?

Yes, it's an old thread, but I didn't see the part number for the black inner primary to case gasket.
34948-08 gasket, primary housing to case, Black

I just figured that someone else might also be interested in using a black primary housing gasket and I would save them some time trying to research this. I found very few hits while investigating this.
Did I do something that is generally considered unusual or strange by the hdforums population in general?

I was happy to read about it.

I'm assuming the visible edge is black...unlike the raw metal of the recent one I bought?
