Thanks. Not sure how exactly I became attracted to or interested in motorcycles. My dad did not ride. I had no older brothers that did. I had no relatives on either side of the family that rode. Guess it was due to CHIPS and the first Mad Max movie. Perhaps the Fonz also had something to do with it. I found motorcycles to be cool at a young age and got my first one at 13. I plan on sticking with my LR for a few years and unless something else comes along that interests me, I will likely get at least one more LR before I hang it up.

"Low Country Harley Davidson" With the price they quoted you, they should be called High Country Harley Davidson. I got my Vivid Black LR (no options) for $14500 OTD. I paid my dealer $500 to install all my Stage 1 parts, 1/4 fairing, and fork brace.

I'll get a better price/deal!

I think I was 12 when I first started riding. The first bike was a 1975 XR-75 I traded a friend for an Atari console and some games; back around 1981. To this day I had more fun on that bike than any of them. It was a thumpy, growly, grungy, adventurous bike that I beat to death and loved every minute of it.

Sorry my bad, 2,000 rpm minimum shifting from 5th to 6th. To cruise at 2,500 rpm at 65. All other gears at about 2,500-2,800. Yes, definitely not good to lug the engine.

We can all agree that lugging our engines is not a good thing. I typically stay between 2500-3000 RPM when riding.

Same, I will let it drop to 2k for short periods if it is not pulling.

Twin cams should never see below 2k rpm unless you're in 1st gear

I installed a new seat on my bike today. I had a Mustang Tripper solo seat on my XL1200C (that I just sold) and I loved it. I custom ordered one in black with a blue center section and red stitching to match the paint scheme of the bike. It looked great and was very comfortable. I was going to do the same thing for my LR until I saw they had this one that matches the bike well. I see they are now out of stock on the passenger pillion, must be I got the last one.

I only had time to ride the bike for about an hour with the new seat before work, but it felt very comfortable just like the one on my Sporty did. It's not that the stock seat was uncomfortable because it was very much so for me. I just wanted to further "personalize" my bike, and wanted to have the ability to set the bike up for solo riding on the fly. It looks great with the color scheme of the bike to me!

I love this bike, because it suits my riding style/my body/my taste in styling, etc to a tee!! I hit the 4,000 mile mark on mine this past Sunday since bringing it home in April of this year, and look forward to many years and miles of riding this bike...

Here's a few pics:
